My name is Galen Weld and I'm a PhD candidate at the Allen School, a part of the University of Washington, in Seattle. A longtime Reddit moderator, I’m passionate about making online communities better through better governance and tools. You can learn more about my research here.

When I’m not doing research, I love spending time in the mountains, and photography. I've been taking photos since I was 8 years old. Originally from Seattle, I enjoy shooting landscapes and nature images, as well as adventure photography. When I'm not holding a camera, I love ice and rock climbing, mountaineering, skiing, and cycling.
